We have just released version 2.6.1 of the mctp utilities - the first stable point-release for the project.

Version 2.6 was the first to support running with restricted privileges, and has been integrated into meta-openembedded's "blacksail" release; with OE as a primary consumer of the mctp tools, a stable release gives us a method of providing a set of fixes, without potentially-disruptive feature changes that may come with integrating a major release.

The changes in 2.6.1 are fairly minimal: a couple of bugfixes in the endpoint removal path, fixes for compiling with older kernel headers, and a fix for systemd integration in unprivileged mode. See the changelog for full descriptions.

The request for this release originated from the OpenBMC community - we definitely value feedback from deployments like this. If you'd like to get in touch: most public OpenBMC/MCTP related chat happens on #pldm-mctp-spdm on the OpenBMC discord, or contact us directly.
